Network load

Although remote paging is faster than using the local disk, sometimes the network traffic may be so high that the bandwidth used by RPM will be limited. In this case the cost of using the network, especially in the case of old slow networks like Ethernet, may become higher than the cost of using the local disk. Such a situation could be handled by the RPM by measuring the time it takes to satisfy a request and using a threshold to determine whether it should continue to use the network to route pageout requests or it would be better to switch to the local disk.
